Persistent failure to persuade people to consider our proposals could sometimes be owing to our asking wrong people for help, seeking answers in wrong places and knocking on wrong doors. By Nimroth Gwetsa, 30 June 2016. Continue reading

– Is there an end to South Africa’s unemployment and poverty crisis?
Human beings are marvellous. Even without zoologist and scientists explaining differences between humans and animals, any sane person can easily see the superiority of humans over other creatures. A mere look at innovation and developments humans brought about and other feats achieved, shows the greatness of humans above other creatures.
Despite this greatness, human beings seem unable to resolve age-old problems whose remedies are known and documented. By Nimroth Gwetsa, 31 May 2016. Continue reading
– SUSTAINABLE SUCCESS CANNOT BE DEMANDED
Success is earned. To keep it, it needs to be sustained. These obvious facts are not so obvious when you’re struggling with and facing many debilitating challenges. Life feels unfair especially when people around you seem successful without much fuss. Unlike what many may believe, sustainable success cannot be demanded. It is the result of what has been produced. By Nimroth Gwetsa, 28 October 2015. Continue reading
#YouSnoozeYouLose – PROTECTING YOUR IDEAS/ INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY
You snooze, you lose.
“You’ll never know what you got until it’s over[1].” Unless you have experienced a deep sense of loss, you may not fully appreciate the pain of loss as described in the lyrics of James Ingram’s song.
Lack of appreciation of the value of what one has, be it love, a job, an opportunity, an innovative idea, relationship or whatever it might be, is not a problem only afflicting ungrateful people. Perennial procrastinators reflect the same spirit of lacking appreciation of the value of opportunities presented to them. An opportunity would stare at serial procrastinators begging them to seize it, yet procrastinators would naively think tomorrow is still another day to get started. Unbeknown to them, tomorrow might never come. By Nimroth Gwetsa, 28 July 2015. Continue reading
– How IT Professionals could use Information Management to gain recognition in business
By Nimroth Gwetsa, 29 October 2014.
Some Overused Business Buzzwords
Using buzzwords can be troublesome. Salespeople often use them to hoodwink potential buyers into spending money on their redundant products and services. IT professionals, marketers and consultants notoriously force jargons in business communication.
Jargon can be useful in simplifying complex topics. Sometimes explanations cause more confusion than ordinary use of words. I hope to not cause any confusion with my brief discussion on Information Management. Continue reading
GENERATING NEW REVENUE BY LEVERAGING EXISTING OFFERINGS
(Pictures courtesy of African Globe: http://www.africanglobe.net/africa/cape-town-tales-city/)
We have heard politicians talk about South Africa having parallel economies[1]: one serving the well developed and the other, emerging sector of our society. The dichotomy should ideally result in active companies in the economy equally thriving in the development of new offerings and in the reuse of existing products and services. Reuse, in this case, referring to the creation of additional revenue by leveraging existing offerings and applying them in a different context. Writes Nimroth Gwetsa, 2 October 2014.
