You’ll never know what you got until it’s over[1].” Unless you have experienced a deep sense of loss, you may not fully appreciate the pain of loss as described in the lyrics of James Ingram’s song.

Lack of appreciation of the value of what one has, be it love, a job, an opportunity, an innovative idea, relationship or whatever it might be, is not a problem only afflicting ungrateful people. Perennial procrastinators reflect the same spirit of lacking appreciation of the value of opportunities presented to them. An opportunity would stare at serial procrastinators begging them to seize it, yet procrastinators would naively think tomorrow is still another day to get started.
